A while back we launched the Image Slider component for dashboards. This component is perfect for showcasing and promoting important information, such as news and events, key information pages, photos etc. all in a creative and pretty way. The dashboard Image Slider has been a big hit due to its slide cycle controls and ability to add links to the slides (by placing a URL (either internal or external) into the image description field).
Since its launch, many schools have requested that this functionality also be made available on homepages. This is because schools are building brilliant homepages that are used as landing pages for presenting and accessing key information areas in the schools, such as parent group pages. Having the ability to showcase promotional slides that also serve as a navigation tool to key information areas is vital for engaging audiences.
The Schoolbox team is pleased to announce that minor release v15.6.10 has brought link capability to the Image Slideshow homepage component. The component now lets you add a URL into an image description field which turns the image slide into a link.
