Are you getting too many messages from Schoolbox Help, or maybe not enough? Well, it might be time to review you message settings and customise your experience to ensure you're receiving the types of messages you want to receive, in the way you want to receive them.
In the Schoolbox Help Centre we regularly publish our release notes through the school/global news (available on your dashboard and from the top menu). Our release notes include updates on cool news features and improvements, and updates on bug fixes. We have set the default for school/global news to be an instant notification (it will appear under the red bell in the top right corner of your screen), but you might like to receive an email about our release notes too. Well, the power is in your hands. You can easily change the way you receive messages through your personal message settings.
TIP: You can also follow these steps to customise your message settings in your own school's Schoolbox instance!
How To:
1. Click on your name in the side menu.
2. Select 'Settings'.
3. There are two parts to your message settings that you can review.
Homepage Message Settings
This is all group pages you are a part of in Schoolbox Help. To stop receiving notifications from these groups, click on the 'following' toggle so that it switches to 'muted'. This will stop ALL messages from that group page, including things such as posts or responses in the social stream and forums and even messages about when your due work has been marked. This will also remove the group from your side menu. Think carefully about what you might miss out on if you mute an entire group! We advise against muting your Teacher Course group.
General Message Settings
Your general message settings allows you to choose how you receive messages about specific events, such as when someone replies to your forum post or when a teacher marks your work in the teacher course. Your message delivery options are:
NOTE: In Schoolbox Help, you will not have the option to select mobile as this application is not available.
We recommend that you pay particular attention to your message settings in Schoolbox Help for the 'receive news messages when somebody posts school news'. This includes release notes.
