Access A Reporting Activity

Teachers can access Reporting Activities from the class where the activity has been imported.

Depending on your workflow, you can open a Reporting Activity from:

  • The Reporting Activity itself.
  • The class assessment list.
  • The course outline.
  • Custom participation actions, where enabled.

Opening the Reporting Activity displays the reporting status page, where teachers can review progress and begin entering reporting grades and feedback.

Enter Grades And Feedback

Teachers can record grades and written feedback for each student directly within the Reporting Activity.

  1. Select a student from the reporting status page.
  2. Review any supporting evidence that has been configured.
  3. Enter the reporting grade.
  4. Add written feedback, if enabled.
  5. Save the feedback as a draft or publish it.

Teachers can move between students without leaving the feedback page, allowing reporting to be completed efficiently across an entire class.

Review Supporting Data

Supporting Data provides additional assessment evidence while teachers complete reporting grades and feedback.

Depending on how the Reporting Activity has been configured, supporting data may include:

  • Due Work.
  • Quizzes.
  • Projects.
  • Third-party assessments.

Supporting Data is read-only and is intended to help teachers make informed reporting decisions.

Use Reporting Feedback In Summative Reports

Published Reporting Activity feedback can be used in summative reporting workflows.

When generating or reviewing a summative report that includes Reporting Activity feedback, the report must be generated as a staff member.

Students and parents cannot view Reporting Activities directly. Staff must use the summative reporting workflow to include published reporting grades and feedback in a report.

Permissions

Users require the appropriate permissions to provide feedback for Reporting Activities.

The following users can access the reporting feedback workflow:

  • Superusers.
  • Users with LMS Write / LMS Moderate permission.
  • Teachers responsible for participating students.

Users with Differentiation Profile Write permission can also access custom participation actions where permitted by the Reporting Activity configuration.
