View SOCS Calendar Events

SOCS calendar events appear as normal Schoolbox calendar events.

Events are read-only in Schoolbox.
Event visibility is based on the campus matched from the SOCS Schools field.
Events use the configured Default Calendar Category.

If no matching campus is found, the event will not appear in Schoolbox.

SOCS music lessons appear as normal Schoolbox calendar events.

Lessons are linked to staff using the SOCS staffid value.
Lessons are linked to students using the SOCS pupilid value.
Staff and students are matched using their Schoolbox external ID.

Music lessons can appear for one matched participant even if the other participant cannot be matched.

SOCS calendar events and music lessons use Schoolbox calendar categories.

Calendar events use the configured Default Calendar Category.
The SOCS Category field is not used to select the Schoolbox calendar category.
Music lessons use the configured Default Music Lesson Category.

SOCS calendar events and music lessons can display event details in Schoolbox.

Title
Date and time
Location
Description or notes
Linked staff and student names, where available

Event times are treated as local school time. Calendar events whose start time is All Day or tbc are displayed as all-day events. If only the end time is tbc, Schoolbox uses the start time as the end time.

Understand Campus Matching

Are you sure you want to remove this component?

SOCS calendar events are assigned to campuses using the Schools field provided by SOCS.

If the SOCS Schools field contains multiple comma-separated school names, Schoolbox checks each one.
Schoolbox compares each SOCS school name with the campus names in Schoolbox.
The SOCS school name must exactly match the Schoolbox campus name.
If a match is found, the event is assigned to that campus.
If no match is found, the event will not appear in Schoolbox.

Understand User Matching

SOCS music lessons are linked to users using external IDs.

SOCS staffid is matched to a Schoolbox staff user by external ID.
SOCS pupilid is matched to a Schoolbox student user by external ID.
If the staff member is matched, the lesson appears on the staff member's calendar.
If the student is matched, the lesson appears on the student's calendar.

A missing staff or student match does not stop the lesson from appearing for the other matched participant.

Lesson Details	Instrument and Attendance values are included in the lesson details.
