There are two external backup options for Schoolbox that have been used.
In addition to this, there are also:

These are controlled, managed and maintained by the school.
Advantages
- Managed entirely by the school
- Reduced disk IO compared to the CIFS based backups
- Much more reliable than CIFS based backups, particularly with temporary network issues
- Faster recovery from a total failure

In addition to any other configured backups, we also perform backups of the databases and server config (not uploaded files) to a local directory on the server. We keep for reference:
- 7 nightly backups (at 3:15am)
- 8 weekly backups (single day, Saturday)
- 6 monthly backups (single day, 1st of month)
