Rubric data can be viewed in several places across Schoolbox. These views help teachers review student achievement, track progress against capabilities and indicators, and prepare reporting outcomes.

This page explains where rubric results can be viewed, filtered, downloaded, and included in reports.

Rubric Report

The Rubric Report shows rubric results for a specific activity.

  1. Navigate to an activity that uses a rubric.
  2. Select the three-dot menu.
  3. Select Rubric Report.

The report displays rubric capabilities, indicators, descriptor selections, and overall results for students in the activity.

Rubric Markbook

The Rubric Markbook shows rubric achievement across multiple activities in a class.

  1. Go to the class page.
  2. Select the three-dot menu.
  3. Select Rubric Markbook.

Use the Rubric Markbook to filter results by term, unit, activity status, weighting, work type, capability, or indicator.

Select Show Drafts to include draft rubric feedback that has not been published.

Download Rubric Results

Rubric results can be downloaded from rubric reporting views where downloads are available.

In the Rubric Markbook, you can download:

  • Rubric Points
  • Rubric Descriptors

If Show Drafts is selected before downloading, draft feedback is included in the spreadsheet.

Rubrics in Feedback and Grades

Rubric feedback can also appear on student feedback and grades pages after feedback has been published.

  • Teachers can review rubric selections from the activity feedback view.
  • Students and parents can view published rubric feedback where visibility settings allow.
  • Grades pages can show rubric learning levels, descriptors, capability marks, and progression where configured.

Visibility depends on the activity feedback settings, grades settings, and year level configuration.

Rubrics in Summative Reports

Rubric information can be included in Summative Reports where the report and work type settings allow.

Depending on your report configuration, Summative Reports can include marked rubric grids and capability totals.

Summative Report visibility and release rules still apply.

  • The Rubric Report shows rubric results for a specific activity.
  • The Rubric Markbook shows rubric results across multiple activities in a class.
  • Draft rubric feedback only appears when Show Drafts is selected.
  • Students and parents can only view rubric feedback after it has been published and visibility settings allow.
  • Rubric reporting is currently based on Due Work rubrics.

The Rubric Markbook allows any staff member in your school to view student achievements against the rubrics you’ve created and assigned to an assessment item in Schoolbox.  Teachers can view the results for a specific capability or indicator, across multiple assessments, in one location! This is particularly helpful when you want a quick snapshot of student progress in a specific area, or when you need to form an overall mark for your end of semester reports! The Rubric Markbook can be filtered by capability and indicator.

Superusers will need to go to Administration > LMS > Settings - LMS Policy to review the decisions relating to Rubrics, with the Teaching and Learning Leaders.

Access from your My Classes page

1. Select the 'Classes' tab in your top menu.

2. Select the 3-dot menu next to the class.

3. Select 'Rubric Markbook'.

Access from your Class Page

1. Navigate to your Class Page.

2. Select the 3-dot menu at the top right of your page.

3. Select 'Rubric Markbook'.

The Rubric Markbook allows you to track the achievements of a student across the rubrics you have used. The Rubric Markbook will display each assessment and the capabilities and indicators that were used to assess the task.

The overall grade of a rubric can be viewed by navigating to the Overall section of the markbook. This will display the default grade group selected within Administration > Lists > Year Levels.

The Rubric Markbook allows you to filter by the term, unit, activity status, weighting, work type, or capabilities and indicators. You can also use the Drafts checkbox to display draft marks that have not been published.

In addition to being viewable inside Schoolbox, Rubric Points and Rubric Descriptors can be downloaded as a spreadsheet. 

To download:

1. Go to your Rubric Markbook.

2. Use the ‘Show Drafts’ checkbox to decide if you wish to include draft feedback and grading in your download.

NOTE: If drafts are included in the download, the word ‘Draft’ will be prepended to the file name. Draft points and descriptors within the spreadsheet will have ‘(draft)’ amended to them.

3. Select the 3-dot menu to the top right of the page.

4. Select 'Download Rubric Points' or 'Rubric Descriptors'.
