Audio Component

The Audio component will allow you to list audio files, ready to be played by the users accessing the homepage. This can be done in a number of areas in Schoolbox, including the files component, submissions area and audio component. 

On this page you will find the following information:

NOTE: This feature is not available for Safari on OSX or iOS (iPhone/iPad). To record on iOS (iPhone/iPad) use the camera app and upload your recorded file from the camera roll.

Adding the Audio Component

1. To add the component to your page, select the '+' button at the top of your page.

2. Select the 'Multimedia' tab.

3. Drag and drop the component to the desired location.

Instructions - Recording audio

1. Select 'Click or drag here to attach files'.

2. Select 'Recording'.

3. Give your recording a name and then select 'Start Recording'.

4. Select 'Stop' when you have finished recoding.

5. You can now choose to play your recording, or select 'Upload Audio'.

Audio Transcoding

Audio Transcoding

The Audio Player uses the same transcoding system but has the following specifications:

  • Audio Container - MP3
  • Audio Codec - MP3
  • Audio Bitrate - 96kb (configurable by a Superuser, via Administration > Settings > Resources)

1. To view and change the settings in the Audio component, you first need to unlock your page.

2. Select the Settings cog.

3. Choose the number of Audio files in the list

3. Select Sort by Name or Date

4. Select Direction as Ascending or Descending
