Synergetic Parent Directory

Synergetic Parent Directory

Are you sure you want to remove this component?

Schoolbox has a parent directory which can be viewed by navigating to the following URL.

https://YOUR_SCHOOLBOX_URL/modules/report/parents/YEAR_LEVEL

Where:

  1. YOUR_SCHOOLBOX_URL is your regular internet address for your installation and
  2. YEAR_LEVEL is the year level of the parent directory you wish to view like "7"

The family directory draws its information directly from Synergetic and respects the publishing flags in Synergetic. In Synergetic there is an Include in Directory flag under Flags in Community Maintenance, if this has not been ticked for the parent, the student's parent will not show up in the directory.
In addition, the parent may need to opt in under the Student Parent Contacts tab of the Synergetic Community Portal, and this directory will also respect the choice of which information to share (Email, Address, Mobile phone, Home Phone).

Just change the number at the end of the URL to see different years. Schools generally have a parent portal page that they link via this. So they will have a Year 7 parent page with information and news for year 7 parents and a link to this directory page.

Schools have generally added this to their Schoolbox by either:

  1. Adding links via the side menu system to the year level directory pages
  2. Adding a link on the side menu called "Family Directory" and then adding links to that homepage under links component for "Year X Directory" etc

If you wish to search for a particular parent or student in Schoolbox you can use the main search at the top right corner of every Schoolbox interface to search for a particular name. So if you're looking for a particular student's parents you can use that search field.

The directory is obviously filtered by year level. So you can see a complete list of parents for the year level.

There is also a Schoolbox policy setting (Administration > Settings > Policy) that restricts parent access to only year levels that they have children in. So the list will not work with this policy.
