Schoolbox Implementation Workshops

When you join the Schoolbox Community, we want to make sure that your investment in Schoolbox and your implementation is nothing short of a huge success. We help you to achieve by engaging, inspiring, and accelerating everyone in the right direction. Our Schoolbox Implementation Workshops target all key stakeholders including your executive team, the IT and administration staff, and, of course, your teachers.

The Schoolbox Implementation Workshops consist of customised sessions based on the needs of your school community, and the online Schoolbox Teacher Course. The sessions can be completed on-site or online using video conferencing technology, but if it was up to us, we would always suggest that we meet you and your team in person! Description: The strategy workshop with the Executive and Project Teams is a discussion-based session facilitated by a Schoolbox education consultant.

Aim: By the end of the workshop, participants should understand the capabilities of Schoolbox and will have made some high-level decisions required for the Schoolbox rollout.

Participants: There should be a variety of members of the school involved in this workshop to ensure all areas of the school are represented in discussions and decisions. In particular, the following people should be in attendance:

• Principals or members of the executive team
• Senior representatives from the following areas of the school:
  • Curriculum
  • Campuses or Year Levels
  • eLearning
  • IT Department
  • Marketing and Communications
• Your project team
• Extracurricular representatives if required

Topics: The workshop will involve a demonstration of how Schoolbox can work for you, and will include essential conversations, covering the following topics:

• Project goals
• Roles and permissions in the system
• Current Learning and Teaching strategies and how you anticipate this reflected in Schoolbox.

Description: The Superuser and content creation sessions consist of a series of interactive workshops facilitated by a Schoolbox education consultant. These can be held on-site or online using video conferencing technology, however we would suggest that this would be best held on-site so your superusers and project team can learn while doing!

Aim: By the end of these workshops, staff who will have Superuser status in the system will have developed a general understanding of the Administration area of Schoolbox, and will have begun to implement some of the decisions made by the Executive Team for their Schoolbox instance. The Project Team will have worked through the key elements of your Schoolbox Implementation, with the support of the Schoolbox Education Consultant.

Schoolbox 101 Workshop: In this workshop, your team will be immersed in the key features of Schoolbox. We will discuss the decisions made by your Executive Team, and how we will achieve these outcomes across the sessions.

Participants: All of your Project Team and key IT administrators should attend this session.

Communication Implementation Workshop: During this session, your team will learn the important aspects of communication for your school. This may include news, calendar, group pages and how to make the most of Schoolbox to suit your communication needs!

Participants: At least one Superuser, your project team and possibly a representative from your marketing department.

LMS Implementation Workshop: This session will allow you the opportunity to learn about courses, units and classes, and how to get the most out of these pages. Your team will investigate the capabilities of components, and build some test pages, before implementing some of the decisions made by the Executive Team.

Participants: At least one Superuser, your project team and key representatives from your Learning and Teaching Team.

Superuser Workshop: This workshop provides an opportunity to implement decisions made throughout the workshops in the Administration area, ask questions, and continue to build the structure of your Schoolbox instance.

Participants: All IT Admins and any other future Superusers should attend this session. In addition to IT staff, schools often include eLearning Leaders, Curriculum Leaders, or Teaching and Learning Leaders as Superusers. We suggest a maximum of 5-6 Superusers, however if you are unsure of who you should choose, send anyone who you think may become a Superuser, and make the final decision after the session.
